Java Chat Problems/Support

Cant get the Java Chat working? Only see a grey box? Got connection problems? Then this Java Chat support page is for you.

Please make sure you read all of this page and follow it's advice before contacting me for support. When you do contact me I will ba asking if you've read this page and if not, I'll be sending you back to read it before I help you!!! So there. :o)

Common problems:
1. The java chat program is just a grey box which doesnt load into anything.

2. The Java Chat has loaded but I dont understand how to configure it with my nickname etc.

3. I dont understand how to connect.

4. I try to connect but it seems to lock up during the "ident" part of the connection.

5. The server says I am "K-lined" or the server disconnects as soon as it connects so I cannot join the channel, or it says "server unreachable".

6. Once I'm connected my chosen name gets automatically changed to a "guest" nickname eg Guest6435.

7. What are all the different parts of the channel window mean?
